Inspiring Alpha Women: Eloïse Panetta

Tell us about your career journey

My love for fashion design, sewing, and pattern making started early on in life, having learnt most of my skills from my grandmother as a child. This led me to pursue a career in fashion design after school, completing my Bachelor of Fashion Design and then working full time as a designer for an Australian fashion label. After several years working in the fashion industry, I decided to go back to university and complete my Master of Fine Arts in Sydney. It was during these years where I refined my skills in botanical dyeing, jewellery making, and painting.

In 2015, I started creating really special bespoke pieces for clients, which has now evolved into my brand as it is renowned for today. My business is based on a bespoke model, where we create botanically dyed silk accessories and made-to-order bespoke clothing and jewellery in my Sydney atelier.

What are you most proud of in your career?

I am really proud of what we’ve achieved so far in this small and humble business. I'm really proud of our values and processes, and how far we’ve come in the last 12 months. We’ve managed to stay stable throughout Covid, and still build a really beautiful community of like-minded women. I'm really proud of my beautiful team, and their passion and commitment to bringing my visions to life. It's just inspiring!

Biggest challenge in your career?

Scaling our unique artisanal processes and made-to-order model has been one of the biggest challenges so far. It is so important to maintain our values and one-of-a-kind processes, but still reach the demand that we have for our brand and products. This is something we are currently trying to piece together.

What role did other supportive women play in your career progression?

I have so many incredible, supportive women in my life, from family, friends, and colleagues. I am so grateful for the love and support they give me daily. It's hard to choose just one moment, but I would say the guidance and fresh perspective all the supportive women in my life give me is just the clarity I need sometimes. Having their perspective on certain situations is just so valuable.

Which Alpha Values resonate with you most and why? (Awareness, Authenticity, Attitude, Ask, A-Team)

I really love Alpha’s values, but if I had to choose it would be authenticity. This one really resonates with me because I am a strong believer that it is just so important to be yourself and to feel beautiful and confident in your own skin. Trusting your instincts and being authentic to who you are and what you believe in is incredibly empowering.
