Is your skin feeling a bit congested, dull and sad? This routine will give your skin the deep cleanse you want without stripping and damaging your skin. Are you ready to look fresh and glowy? Let’s get this skin party started!
Step 1: Double cleanse with Triple Action Cleanser and an Everyday Fresh Cotton Cloth
Oh, how we love Triple Action Cleanser! Soft and cooling, this non-foaming gel cleanser can thoroughly remove all traces of makeup and grime to leave you skin nurtured and balanced.
Why do it twice and use a cloth though? Cleansing twice, particularly of an evening, makes sure that we really do remove everything and get your skin back to pH balance.
As for the Everyday Fresh Cotton Cloth; sometimes our skin needs just that little extra encouragement to remove everything from the surface, especially when it comes to sunscreen and makeup. You don’t need to scrub at it madly – be gentle but firm. We promise it will make a difference to your cleansing routine!
Step 2: Instant Facial
Once you’ve cleansed away all traces of the day and got your skin's pH balanced, we’re going to look to start dropping the pH and removing those dead cells from the surface of the skin which can leave you looking dull and feeling a bit congested. Simply wet a cotton pad with Instant Facial, then swipe it over the skin, avoiding the delicate eye and lip areas.
Instant Facial, similar to our cult favourite Liquid Gold, contains 5% Glycolic Acid to break down the glue which makes those dead cells stick to the surface of your skin. Where it differs though is that it also contains a whole raft of amazing botanical ingredients, and its pH is slightly higher. As we’re about to add further Glycolic Acid in the subsequent step, Instant Facial is the gentler option here. If your skin is very used to actives, you could use Liquid Gold, but be warned it steps up the tingle substantially!
Step 3: Micro Super Scrub
Now it’s time to continue the chemical exfoliation and add in some physical exfoliation to really encourage dead skin to let go now we’ve started to break down the glue sticking it there. Micro Super Scrub contains 10% Glycolic Acid with eco-friendly Bamboo Stem Extract to continue the exfoliation power. This powerhouse combination leaves your skin feeling super smooth and really glowing.
Rub it into damp skin in circular motions, again avoiding the delicate eye and lip areas. For an added hit, you can leave it on for a couple of minutes, then damp your fingers and massage it in before you remove; your Everyday Fresh Cotton Cloth is great for this too!
Step 4: Clear Skin Blemish Control Mask
Now that we’ve worked hard to remove the dead skin and debris from the surface, it’s time to soak up all the excess sebum inside the pores with our Clear Skin Blemish Control Mask. This addition to our ever-popular Clear Skin range features mineral-rich Kaolin and Bentonite clays to absorb excess oil and draw out toxins, plus our incredible botanicals, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus to add antiseptic, soothing and antifungal properties to clear and calm.
Unlike some clay masks which can leave the skin feeling overly dried, Clear Skin Blemish Control Mask instead supports the skin’s barrier to ensure its defenses remain intact and moisture stays locked in.
Step 5: Clear Skin Daily Hydrator Gel
Once we’ve removed all the nasties which have been making your skin feel sluggish, it’s time to add hydration. Our Clear Skin Daily Hydrator Gel is an oil-free formulation to keep that lovely clean and fresh feel we’ve just achieved; no heaviness here! On top of another dose of Tea Tree and Eucalyptus, it also features Salicylic Acid*. This amazing BHA is oil soluble, meaning it is able to penetrate through the sebum in your pores to get right down to the source of breakouts, then begin to break them down and clear it out.
*It should be noted that, whilst it’s an amazing ingredient, Salicylic Acid isn’t recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you could substitute our new Hyaluronic 8 serum here to provide you with oil-free hydration. (All other products mentioned in this routine are suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding mammas.)
